Knicks Win Game 3, Take 2-1 Series Lead
The New York Knicks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 112-109 in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series on Friday night at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks now lead the series 2-1.
Game 4 is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at The Garden.
Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks with 33 points. Julius Randle added 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Mitchell Robinson hauled in a game-high 15 rebounds.
James Harden led the 76ers with 29 points. Joel Embiid added 27 points and 12 rebounds
The Knicks led by 13 points early, but the 76ers cut the deficit to just 3 entering the fourth quarter. The Knicks pushed their lead back to 8 with just over 5 minutes to go, but the 76ers again cut into the lead. Darius Garland's 3-pointer with 3:30 left put the Knicks up 110-104 and the 76ers never got closer than 3 points the rest of the way.
The Knicks will look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead when they host Game 4 on Sunday afternoon. The 76ers will need a win to even the series and avoid going down 3-1.
